Established pursuant to Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-4699 dated April 28, 2020 "On measures for the wide introduction of the digital economy and electronic government" and Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 409 dated June 25, 2020 "On measures to organize the activities of certain organizations within the system of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Pursuant to Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 107 dated March 14, 2023 "On measures to organize the activities of the data processing center of the 'E-government' system", the Data Processing Center of the "E-Government" system was launched under the State Institution "E-Government Project Management Center" without forming a separate legal entity.

Based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-76 dated May 24, 2023 "On measures for the effective organization of public administration in the field of digital technologies as part of administrative reforms", the name of the State Institution "E-Government Project Management Center" was renamed to the State Institution "Digital Government Project Management Center".
